Hamlin Breezes Through

Howard Hamlin and crew led the fleet for most of the short course racing at the ASL season opener. Except for a tackline issue in the first race Sunday, which was fixed on the water between races, Hamlin's rocket fast skiff held together for the entire regatta.
 

Noble out

After a knee injury sustained during a bad jibe on Saturday, Matt Noble was unable to return to the water on Sunday.  After sweeping Saturday's races and left suddenly without a bowman, Howie Hamlin turned to old team regular, Paul Allen of Santa Cruz.

Gym

Preparation was the name of the game in Saturday's ASL Season Opener. Six teams of three entered the event with hopes of sailing around the course with ease. It did not take long on Saturday for reality to set in. Short course racing is hard on the boats and the crews...
